Developing a safe location that is code compliant to operate hydrocarbon extraction equipment can be an expensive and complex task. To be a successful operation, it is imperative that safety and compliance are a top priority in the operation.
Are these labs compliant with national codes?
We have designed and engineered our lab to be compliant with the city of Denver. Denver leads the extraction industry in compliancy. Our labs are built to meet all national codes for building, fire, mechanical, and electrical.
What type of ventilation is used?
Our units are engineered and designed using capture and containment ventilation.
Other manufacturers are using dilution ventilation, which is not accepted in many states.
What size door opening do these units require?
Our Kit units can fit through a standard 36″ door. Our pre-built labs in containers require a 10′ x 10′ door opening.
What is an LEL meter?
An LEL meter is used to measure LEL percentage of combustible gas or vapor in the atmosphere. Unlike our competitors that only offer one meter, our labs are equipped with 2 meters. One located at 12″ off the ground, and one at the operators height to ensure any sort of leak is detected immediately.
Do the walls have a fire rating?
Yes, our insulated, structural panels have a 1 hour fire rating.
How long do they take to assemble?
Our kit labs are meant to be easy to install. With the needed professionals, these labs take 1 to 2 days to completely install.
How big are the vent hoods in the units?
Our hoods cover floor to ceiling, and wall to wall, to ensure air movement over the entire operating space.
Do these units have fire suppression systems?
Yes, our extraction labs have independent fire suppression system included.
Is there space for spent product to off gas?
Yes, space to off gas has become a requirement in Denver and several other places. Spent product still holds residual flammable gas and must remain in the C1D1 room to finish off gassing.
Does EnviroGrow offer any sort of calibrating of the units?
Yes, EnviroGrow will notify you of units scheduled calibration dates at time of purchase. Failure to calibrate, or improperly calibrated LEL meters could bring catastrophic conditions.
What happens if there is a high LEL reading?
All our extraction labs come equipped with EnviroGrow’s patent pending interlock system. In the event of a high LEL reading, there are a series of emergency safety precautions that will occur in the unit to ensure the operator’s safety.
How are these units different from, say, a Labconco hood?
Our units are full size C1D1 labs, not just laboratory hoods. These units are designed to house the extraction machine as well as the operator. They also have space for off gassing of spent product which is a requirement in many states.
What types of extraction operations can be run in this unit?
These units are designed for hydrocarbon extractions. EnviroGrow also offers CO2 labs for Co2 extraction units.
What size extraction unit can be used in these units?
Both our 12′ x 12′ and 12′ x 7′ units have a 9′ x 7′ 2″ operating foot print.
Are there additional costs to the extraction labs?
The cost for the unit includes all parts and components you will need to completely assemble the lab. The lab will require a licensed electrician, plumber, and HVAC specialist to complete all final connections to the unit.
